Realtime Transcripts of Attorney-Client Meetings
The Problem
Working up large-scale transactions and litigation requires considerable time-consuming meetings between clients and attorneys. Having an associate within your firm take handwritten notes of these meetings can be a weak link in the progress made at the meeting. The resulting notes can be incomplete or missing important emphasis that was evident during the meeting. The cost of having that additional associate sit in is compounded by the fact that their skills could have been better utilized doing more specialized tasks than note-taking.
The Solution
A realtime court reporter can attend these meetings in lieu of an associate. Using a stenotype machine, laptop and state-of-the-art technology, the spoken words are transcribed simultaneously—or in "real time"—at the same speed they are spoken.
The Result
The result is a complete searchable transcript that is provided immediately at the conclusion of the meeting in multiple formats which can be edited, highlighted and distributed electronically to those who attended as well as those who may not have been in attendance. The transcript is confidential attorney-client work product.
